Congratulations to all the HEAR ME Team for its success so far in festival! To date, Hear Me has won the following awards:
Best Drama Short - Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards
Best Drama Short - Olympus Film Festival (Los Angeles)
Award of Merit Special Mention - Best Shorts Competition
This is a great start to our festival campaign as we work toward screening our little film. Keep checking back for more information on when and where you can watch Hear Me.
As you may have heard already, HEAR ME is finished! Join us in celebrating our completed work by following us on our social media and sharing our news as we begin submitting to festivals!
One of the biggest questions we are getting right now is where can I see Hear Me? The short answer to this is, that depends on where you live. We are submitting to festivals nationwide, but the majority of our submissions are in the southern California area. We have already been accepted into one festival (details to be announced later) in Los Angeles, and we have many more pending. We should be getting word from them late summer and throughout the fall.
If you happen to be in the Bakersfield area (or Los Angeles area), be on the lookout for announcements on our local screenings. We want/need as many people to come as possible so we can get this little film some publicity. Thank you all for your help thus far.
If you are not near a festival or are unable to make it, we will eventually post Hear Me on a public forum for viewing. But unfortunately, due to festival rules, that won’t be for a while.
There’s not enough space to make all the thank you’s we need to make, so we just want to give out a general THANK YOU for all of you who supported us through this process, in every area. We could not have done it without you.
Now...let’s get this thing screened! Share the news, spread the word, go on social media and fire up as much publicity as you can and continue checking back for news. We hope to have some big ones soon!
Greetings from Logic Film Company -
It seems that “crazy” is the word we most often use to describe our schedule, and the start to this year is no different. Here are a few updates in our world:
What have we been doing? The post production process to Hear Me has been sailing along. During this part of production, it always appears like nothing is happening because we don’t post pictures of the editing process (maybe we should) like we are able to during filming, but rest assured, Hear Me is coming along nicely. Our biggest goal at this point is to get a locked edit (meaning all the cuts and angles and story decisions are to a point where it is ‘locked’ so we can pass it on to the sound effects crew, composer, etc.). This always takes the longest since there are a lot of options to sift through. So far, we’ve had to shoot a new scene, and we have one scheduled this week as well. All of these decisions are based on feedback we get from screening the film over and over and over to make sure the story is landing the way we want it to. I’d say 90% of the film is doing what we want it to do, but we want to make sure it’s as close to what we want as possible. Be on the lookout for filming shots next weekend as well as updates as we get closer to festival submission.
What’s the end goal for Hear Me? We get this question a lot, and it’s a bit hard to answer. Our first goal is to submit the film to festivals. We have a team working on which festivals we will enter. Since festival season is almost over, we are looking at a Fall 2019 release most likely. Our self-imposed deadline for a final cut is May of this year. Therefore, we will begin submitting to festivals that run any time after. Depending on how the film does will determine what we do from there.
Where can I see Hear Me? If you worked on the film or were a part of the production in any way, we will most likely hold a local private screening in Bakersfield. We are also certain to submit the film to local festivals in both the greater Bakersfield area and a few festivals in L.A. we have our eyes on. We will need support if/when that happens, so attending a festival will be something we address later on. Stay tuned for news on our submission process starting in May.
CIVIC CELEBRATION COMMERCIAL:
In the meantime, we have been hard at work filming and editing a civic celebration campaign for Stockdale Solar. Teaming up with Don Clark, Stockdale Solar has agreed to showcase some of Bakersfield’s hidden gems and accomplishments through the years that may have been forgotten or not be known. And Logic Film Company was lucky enough to be asked to support the campaign through producing the commercial to fit the vision. You’ll be able to see some of these airing starting this week.
Thanks again for supporting Logic Film Company from the beginning. We ask for your help and support in keeping up to date and spreading the word as we are starting to feel some momentum building with this little local startup company.
Kevin M. Turner
CEO, Logic Film Company LLC.
As you may have heard, Logic Film Company has announced the end of filming on our latest short film, “Hear Me”. To all the cast and crew who have spent countless hours lighting scenes, lugging equipment, memorizing lines, blocking and filming take after take after take, we wish to express our sincerest thanks and gratefulness. It’s been a long journey that started back in February with our writing team, and we have had the most fantastic time collaborating with such talented people. So on behalf of everyone at Logic Film Company, we wish to say THANK YOU! We could not have done this without you. And for those whose journey with “Hear Me” is complete, we hope to work with you again in the future.
On to the next: For those interested, “Hear Me” now goes into post production. This is where we take everything we’ve filmed the past few months and cut it down to its most essential parts, making difficult decisions on performance, which scenes are necessary and which aren’t, and which elements of the story work the best together. Then after we have a basic edit, we’ll work with our sound crew, add in vocal enhancements, background sound, and music. Finally, our coloring crew will get to work taking our image and enhance it even more, creating a stylized look for the final product.
Our goal is to have “Hear Me” ready for festival season, which starts in May. While it may appear as though nothing is going on with the project, rest assured, we will be hard at work polishing the film to be as good as it can possibly be.
You can follow our progress by continuing to check our website and social media outlets. Consider sharing and spreading the word as we continue to grow our little film company to the best story-telling machine possible.
Second to last shoot and a wrap for Addie Grace and @kimmelerica. Feeling some sadness but get to relive these performances over and over again. A beautifully acted day! @tara_haner #hearme #logicfilmcompany#localtalent
Special thanks to our wonderful intern Grace for her help on set lately. A wonderful student from Garces Memorial and an even more wonderful addition to our team. It’s been great having you with us and we can’t wait to see what you do next. Thank you again Grace!
Apparently, working with child actors is supposed to be super tough. That’s not been our experience. It was so rewarding watching these little kids own their characters and work like pros. #hearme #logicfilmcompany#childactors #localtalent @ Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County
This picture will be worth millions one day. But not because of Kevin. Starting work with Addie Grace this week. She’s brilliant! @tara_haner @eadynne
Crazy, long, needed patience type of day, but well worth it. Stills from today’s theater shoot. These young actors and actresses are AMAZING.
Here are some very lightly graded stills from this past weekend’s shoot at Acting Out. So fun to watch these two actresses feed off each other. @tara_haner @eadynne #logicfilmcompany #hearme
Very lightly graded stills from yesterday’s shoot of Hear Me. Thank you @jlbakersfield for hosting us! Such a fun day. Most used quote...”One more for insurance.” And the crew says...

Even when running fevers, having stressful, overwhelming, crappy days, and filming for hours already, these ladies bring it without complaint or excuse. We can’t even begin to explain how lucky we are to work with @eadynne @tara_haner @misslillady86 . Their performances are INCREDIBLE! You’ll see...
