Greetings from Logic Film Company -
It seems that “crazy” is the word we most often use to describe our schedule, and the start to this year is no different. Here are a few updates in our world: HEAR ME: What have we been doing? The post production process to Hear Me has been sailing along. During this part of production, it always appears like nothing is happening because we don’t post pictures of the editing process (maybe we should) like we are able to during filming, but rest assured, Hear Me is coming along nicely. Our biggest goal at this point is to get a locked edit (meaning all the cuts and angles and story decisions are to a point where it is ‘locked’ so we can pass it on to the sound effects crew, composer, etc.). This always takes the longest since there are a lot of options to sift through. So far, we’ve had to shoot a new scene, and we have one scheduled this week as well. All of these decisions are based on feedback we get from screening the film over and over and over to make sure the story is landing the way we want it to. I’d say 90% of the film is doing what we want it to do, but we want to make sure it’s as close to what we want as possible. Be on the lookout for filming shots next weekend as well as updates as we get closer to festival submission. What’s the end goal for Hear Me? We get this question a lot, and it’s a bit hard to answer. Our first goal is to submit the film to festivals. We have a team working on which festivals we will enter. Since festival season is almost over, we are looking at a Fall 2019 release most likely. Our self-imposed deadline for a final cut is May of this year. Therefore, we will begin submitting to festivals that run any time after. Depending on how the film does will determine what we do from there. Where can I see Hear Me? If you worked on the film or were a part of the production in any way, we will most likely hold a local private screening in Bakersfield. We are also certain to submit the film to local festivals in both the greater Bakersfield area and a few festivals in L.A. we have our eyes on. We will need support if/when that happens, so attending a festival will be something we address later on. Stay tuned for news on our submission process starting in May. CIVIC CELEBRATION COMMERCIAL: In the meantime, we have been hard at work filming and editing a civic celebration campaign for Stockdale Solar. Teaming up with Don Clark, Stockdale Solar has agreed to showcase some of Bakersfield’s hidden gems and accomplishments through the years that may have been forgotten or not be known. And Logic Film Company was lucky enough to be asked to support the campaign through producing the commercial to fit the vision. You’ll be able to see some of these airing starting this week. Thanks again for supporting Logic Film Company from the beginning. We ask for your help and support in keeping up to date and spreading the word as we are starting to feel some momentum building with this little local startup company.
